Car Root is a Flutter app that turns a phone into a real OBD2 diagnostic scanner, connecting to a car's ECU over Bluetooth through any standard ELM327 adapter.It reads live engine data (RPM, speed, coolant temperature, battery voltage, fuel trims, MAF, MAP, throttle position, intake temperature, fuel pressure), diagnostic trouble codes (stored, pending, and permanent, plus Freeze Frame data), and the vehicle's VIN — decoded offline into manufacturer and model year, no internet required. A built-in rule-based diagnosis engine adds severity, drivability guidance, and likely parts to check for each fault code. The UI is fully bilingual (Arabic/English, RTL-aware).Both major Bluetooth types are supported — BLE (flutter_reactive_ble) and Classic/SPP (flutter_blue_classic) — covering the overwhelming majority of ELM327 adapters on the market, with automatic detection of the correct communication channel on each device.This isn't a UI template with mock data. It has been tested end-to-end on a real 2021 Jeep over BLE: RPM, coolant temperature, speed, and VIN all read correctly, and the fault-code scan correctly reported a clean engine. Like any standard OBD2 tool, it reads powertrain-level diagnostics only — not manufacturer-specific systems like airbag/SRS or detailed ABS, which require proprietary tools. The app states this limitation plainly in its own UI rather than overselling what OBD2 can do.Stack: Flutter/Dart, no backend required.Status: Pre-launch. Not yet published to an app store — no existing users or revenue to report, priced accordingly as a working, tested, pre-launch product.What transfers: full source code (transport layer, protocol engine, UI, diagnosis engine), the app name/branding, the Android release signing keystore, and a written log of real debugging sessions against physical hardware.Why I'm selling: built this solo over two months and got it working against real hardware, but I'm moving on to other projects and would rather see it go to someone who'll take it further.
