About

FloorLine is shop floor software for small manufacturers, roughly 5 to 250 people. It tracks work orders through your production stations as the work happens. Operators scan a barcode traveler on a tablet at their station, the office sees where every job is on a live board, and stock updates as jobs move. You find out a job is running late while there's still time to do something about it, instead of when the customer calls. It's built for job shops and small plants that have outgrown the whiteboard and the spreadsheet: machine shops, metal fabricators, powder coaters and finishers, cabinet and millwork shops, and assembly shops. How it works on the floorYou set up your stations (Saw, Mill, Weld, Paint, Pack) and give each item you make a routing: the stations it goes through, in order. A work order copies that routing and prints as a barcode traveler. At each station, a tablet shows the jobs waiting there. Operators sign in with their name and a PIN, scan the traveler, and start, stop, hold, or complete their step. Instructions, drawings, and quality checks for the step appear on screen. If the shop's internet drops, the tablet keeps working and catches up when the connection is back. What the office seesThe live floor board shows every station on one screen: what's running, who's on it, what's waiting, what's late, what's on hold, and which stations are down. A TV link puts the board on a shop TV with no sign-in. Managers can check any order's progress step by step. Each morning, a daily summary email recaps the last day the shop was open.Inventory that keeps itself currentMaterials come out of stock when the step that uses them starts, and finished goods go into stock when the job completes, so counts stay current without anyone re-entering them. FloorLine covers bills of materials with scrap allowances and min/max replenishment. It also handles purchase orders, delivery orders, and sales orders, plus vendor pricing and pack sizes. Lot and serial numbers with expiry dates give you full traceability.Planning and MRP for growing shopsOn the Mid plan and up, FloorLine schedules work automatically around your shop hours, each station's capacity, and when materials will actually be there. It can tell you when a new order could ship before you promise a date. Full MRP covers planned orders across every level of the bill of materials, lot-sizing rules, a master schedule, pegging that shows what each order is for, and action messages that say what to expedite, push out, or cut back.Reports and costingA dashboard shows throughput, cycle time, on-time delivery, and efficiency by station and by operator. It also shows OEE, with downtime logged by reason right from the tablets. Job costing compares each work order's estimated and actual labor, machine, and material cost against what you sold it for. Scheduled email reports, an audit log, and CSV export of your data round it out.Getting startedFloorLine runs in a web browser, and the floor app installs on any tablet, so there's nothing to install on servers. Every shop gets its own address (yourshop.floorlinehq.com). You can import vendors, customers, items, routings, bills of materials, stock, and open work orders from spreadsheets. A public demo shop lets you click through a working 10-station metal shop before you sign up.Key featuresStation tablets with name-and-PIN sign-in, barcode scanning, and offline modePrintable barcode travelers for every work orderLive floor board, plus a TV mode for the shop floorWork orders with holds, partial completions, waste and scrap reportingQuality checks on routing steps (text, measurements, photos)Inventory that moves automatically with productionBills of materials, purchase orders, delivery orders, and sales ordersLot and serial number traceability with expiry datesAutomatic scheduling around shop hours, capacity, and materialsShip-date estimates for new ordersMRP: planned orders, lot sizing, master schedule, pegging, action messagesDowntime tracking and OEEJob costing with marginsDaily summary and scheduled email reportsCSV import and export, audit logMultiple locations with stock transfers (High plan)Target users: Small and mid-sized manufacturers (5 to 250 employees), including job shops, machine shops, metal fabrication, powder coating and finishing, cabinet and millwork, and assembly.Deployment: Cloud-based (SaaS), web browser, with an installable floor app for tablets.Pricing (per shop, not per user)Free: $0. 3 users, 3 stations, 50 open work orders.Basic: $39/month. 10 users, 5 stations, inventory, shipping and receiving, sales orders.Mid: $99/month. 50 users, 25 stations, planning, MRP, analytics, OEE, job costing, traceability.High: $249/month. 250 users, unlimited stations, multiple locations.Quarterly billing saves about 8%; annual billing is 10 times the monthly price.
