I'm a university student in a technical field, and I use Markdown a lot. Most of my notes and report drafts start in Markdown because it works well for the kind of things I write: code snippets, formulas, tables, experiment notes, and structured technical content. The problem is that when it comes time to submit reports, the required format is still usually Word.
