Hey all — I recently build a platform called Hereabouts over the past few weeks. The idea: pick an activity (running, night out, quiet time, biking, shopping, etc. — or type your own), and it scores every NYC neighborhood in real time based on things like current noise complaints, traffic, crime/crash data, subway activity, nearby events, and even live social media chatter. what location data source? google places api gets pricey at scale
what's powering the location scoring? postgres+postgis or something lighter
