Every day, Krepza automatically collects publicly available product and pricing data from the online catalogs of Lithuania's largest grocery chains. For each product we track the regular price, any active sale or loyalty price, the unit price (per kilogram, liter, or item), and the exact time the price was last confirmed. That history is kept for every product, so a price you see today can be checked against where it stood a week, a month, or six months ago — not just taken on faith.Because different stores name the same product differently — for example, the same milk carton might be listed as “Rokiškio pienas 2.5% 1L” in one catalog and “Pienas ROKIŠKIO 2,5%, 1 l” in another — matching products across chains is not a simple text lookup. Krepza uses semantic language models to compare product names, brands, weights, and categories, so a search for one product surfaces its true equivalents at other stores, not just similarly spelled listings.Freshness matters as much as accuracy: a price is only useful if it reflects what a store is actually charging today. Every product page shows how many hours ago its price was last confirmed, and a visible warning appears if that data starts to look stale — so you can tell the difference between a live, current price and one that simply hasn't been re-checked recently, rather than assuming every number on screen is equally up to date.
