About

Make Look Scanned is a browser-based PDF tool that transforms clean digital documents into realistic scanned-looking PDFs. It is designed for situations where a file needs to resemble a document that has been printed, placed on a scanner, and converted back into PDF format.Users upload a PDF, adjust the scanner effects, preview the processed document, and download the result. Available controls include subtle page rotation, paper tone, noise and grain, scanner blur, edge shadows, grayscale, render DPI, JPEG quality, and an optional seed for repeatable effects. Each page is rasterized, visually processed, and embedded into a new image-based PDF while preserving the original page dimensions. The tool also supports multi-page documents, allowing the same scanning style to be applied consistently across an entire file. All conversion happens locally in the browser, so documents are not uploaded to a server. Make Look Scanned is useful for preparing scanned-style contracts, forms, signed documents, archived records, and administrative paperwork without requiring a printer, physical scanner, Photoshop, or desktop PDF software.

what's the noise gen approach here, perlin or just random pixel overlay via canvas

client-side pdf manipulation, nice. wasm or js for noise generation?
