About
A chord is a sound. Every chord site shows you a picture of one and stops there.Melodician is a free guitar chord reference where the diagram plays. Tap it to strum the chord, or tap one string at a time to hear each note on its own, which is how you work out which finger is killing which string. The audio is recorded acoustic guitar, served from the site itself, not a synth tone. There are 116 chord pages, from the open shapes a beginner starts on to the ones most sites skip entirely. Most carry two or three voicings, so you can compare an open shape against the same chord barred further up the neck and hear the difference rather than take it on trust. Every page that needs one has an easier version of the shape, the finger positions written out in order, and the specific mistake that grip invites with the fix for it.Underneath that sit 190 songs, matched to the chords they genuinely play and shown next to the real recording, so a chord stops being an abstraction. Every chord named on a song is a link to the page that teaches it.Two small things that were missing everywhere I looked: a left-handed toggle that mirrors every diagram and is still on when you come back, and pages that print as clean black and white charts with the navigation and the player left off the paper. No account, no email, no signup wall, no popups. Guitar is live now. Piano, ukulele and bass are next, using the same diagrams and the same audio.
