About
Right now, the job market has a trust problem. Most candidates apply and hear nothing back, not even a rejection, and industry data consistently shows this isn't the exception, it's closer to the norm. The major incumbent platforms have no mechanism to change this: postings sit open indefinitely with no signal of real hiring intent, and there's zero consequence for an employer who ghosts a candidate mid-process. That's not a small UX gap, it's the structural reason candidates increasingly distrust job boards altogether, and it's exactly the problem Signal Jobs was built to solve.Signal Jobs is a fully built-out MVP for a two-sided job marketplace with employer accountability engineered directly into the platform. Candidates create a profile once (resumes are auto-parsed with Claude's API, no manual data entry) and enter a metro-scoped candidate pool. Employers post requisitions and are held to a real, automated escalation ladder: a warning at 5 days, a warning plus candidate notification at 9 days, a decide-prompt at 12 days, and a hard resolution limit at 21 days, at which point the employer's score degrades and the match closes out. Stale requisitions are automatically flagged after 18 days of no employer activity instead of sitting dead on the board indefinitely. This runs as a real backend system, an hourly automated sweep checks every open match and requisition against these thresholds, not something surfaced only in the UI.The stack is production-grade: FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and SQLModel on the backend, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind on the frontend, PostgreSQL for data, Cloudflare R2 for storage, and Stripe already wired up across three pricing tiers plus a pay-per-requisition option. Requisitions, the SLA escalation logic, and the candidate pipeline all work end to end. This is pre-revenue and pre-launch, which is exactly why the opportunity is still on the table. The hardest, slowest part of building a marketplace, the engineering, is done. What's left is execution: a deliberate, metro-first go-to-market push into a market that is actively hungry for exactly this fix. I'm a technical founder with other projects in active development, and I'm looking to hand this off to someone who can bring the go-to-market energy this needs to actually launch and capture that gap before someone else does.
