About

I built Slim-Maddy because I wanted an Excel add-in that actually builds full, executive-ready dashboards from raw, messy tabular data with a single click—without crashing Excel or placing charts on top of data cells. Most Excel tools either spit out plain tables or depend on brittle VBA macros. Slim-Maddy is an Office.js taskpane add-in written with TypeScript, React 18, and an Express/Node backend. It reads your active sheet, calculates summary metrics, builds a native tabular pivot table, and inserts synchronized dual charts (a Column chart and a Doughnut chart) neatly aligned side-by-side.What makes this codebase solid:- Solved the Excel host rendering bugs: Office.js on desktop (Excel 2016 through M365) has notorious coordinate positioning quirks. I spent weeks getting the two-point grid anchor mathematics right so charts sit neatly across rows 6 to 20 without covering the pivot table underneath.- Handled real data edge cases: Built a robust profiling stage that handles string trimming, whitespace variations, and safe KPI fallback formulas (e.g., INDEX/MATCH/MODE calculations) so you never get broken #N/A cards.- 181 passing automated unit tests: Includes full test coverage across validation schemas, cell boundary snapping, and Office.js context lifecycles.- Decoupled, clean architecture: Modern React frontend, TypeScript throughout, Webpack build configuration, and environment variable configuration (.env.example included). What is included in the sale:- Complete, clean source code repository (src/, test/, fixtures/, manifest.xml, build setups).- All 181 automated tests and mock fixtures.- Setup guide with clear instructions to run locally or configure your own LLM backend.- Full commercial rights and 100% intellectual property transfer. Why I am selling:The core engine and UI are done and working reliably. However, I am shifting my focus to another project and do not have the time to market this as a public SaaS or take it through the Microsoft AppSource store review.

questionable how it handles 10k+ rows without excel freezing

looks good, but how does it handle large datasets? any limits on the number of KPIs it can generate?
