A few weeks ago I stumbled on a trick documented by Tom Nick: if you embed a Rec.2100 PQ ICC profile into a JPEG, HDR displays (most modern phones and MacBooks) render the whites into the display's EDR headroom — literally brighter than the UI white around it.
