Tideline — ESOP Repurchase Obligation Model

About

What it isTideline forecasts an ESOP's repurchase obligation — the cash a company legally owes to buy its own shares back from employees as they retire, quit, die or become disabled. It projects participant by participant, fifteen years out, and every dollar in every year traces back to a named person and the section of the Code that put it there. Why it existsAround 6,500 US companies are employee-owned, and every one of them carries this liability. The annual valuation report prices the stock; it does not tell the CFO which year the payouts cluster or what that year costs. The lever that decides most of it is narrow and usually unexamined: when someone retires before normal retirement age, does the plan pay their balance over one year or six? IRC 409(o) only mandates the one-year clock at normal retirement age. Across a few hundred participants, that single answer moves the peak year by millions.Try it before reading another wordLive demo, no signup: https://tekinworks.com/tideline/ — the login is printed on the page ([email protected] / demo1234). It is loaded with a 416-participant plan. Click the tallest bar to open the peak year and see the payout broken down by cause; the model states out loud when a plan is choosing to pay early rather than being required to.What makes it defensibleThis is a rules engine, not a form. Vesting schedules, the five-year distribution delay, the one-versus-six-year clock, diversification elections for participants over 55, and the death and disability paths are each implemented as explicit rules with a test suite behind them. It never values the stock — that stays with the appraiser; the model only moves their number at a growth rate the user sets and can see. What the buyer getsFull source code, documentation, the seed script, and 30 days of email support for setup. The demo above is the product. What is not includedNo revenue, no customers, no traffic, no email list. No domain. You deploy to your own server and connect your own Stripe.Honest scopeParticipant data is imported or entered — there is no integration with a recordkeeper's system. It models the obligation; it does not administer the plan, file Form 5500, or replace a TPA. Single tenant per deployment.
