About

Aura — an open-source agentic AI coding agent (CLI + web UI + mobile-ready clients)

Aura is a working, shipped alternative to tools like Claude Code and Codex: an AI coding agent that runs in your terminal, drives real tools (file edits, shell, tests, git, web), and shows its work in a visual kanban board where tasks are planned, executed, verified and finished — by a single agent or a concurrent swarm of up to 7 specialists.

What makes it different:

- Capabilities enforced by the engine, not prompts. Every agent runs as a capability preset (permission tier + exact tool list). A "reviewer" is read-only because the write tools are never offered — not because the model promised to behave.

- Kanban board with real orchestration. Tiles move through Preparation → Planning → Execution → Finished with write-queues, progress glows, and a stall watchdog. Swarm mode runs architect/researcher/engineer/QA/security agents concurrently on one task.

- Memory that survives sessions. Aura remembers across chats, projects and devices — the same agent identity on CLI, web and Telegram, backed by a shared memory store (Mnemai) with a local-first curation layer.

- Bring your own model. OpenAI-compatible endpoints work out of the box (OpenAI, Xiaomi MiMo, local models); no vendor lock, no per-seat fees for the buyer.

What's included in the sale: full source repos (TypeScript engine, React web client, web/mobile chat clients), the npm package aura-code (~900 downloads/month, versioned releases via CI), branding and docs. Clean-room capable: single-maintainer codebase with English design docs explaining every subsystem. GitHub Stats (at time of listing): 46 stars 5 forks 0 open issues Last commit: September 30, 2026
