LaunchLint

Catch missing keys and broken variables in translated JSON and CSV catalogs.

About

LaunchLint is a self-hosted localization QA application that compares source and translated JSON or CSV catalogs.

It helps software teams, indie game studios and localization agencies identify structural issues before release: missing keys, empty translations, changed placeholders, common printf mismatches, unbalanced tags and differences in line-break counts.

Configurable warnings cover text length, expansion, glossary terms and unchanged translations. Findings show source and target text side by side and can be searched, filtered and exported as CSV or JSON.

The package includes:

• Complete Python application and SQLite database schema.

• Responsive English interface.

• User accounts and saved rule presets.

• Administrator console for managing Pro access.

• Server-enforced Free and Pro limits.

• Configurable Stripe Checkout integration.

• 56 passing automated tests, sample catalogs and deployment documentation.

Version 1 supports flat JSON objects with string values and CSV files containing key, value columns. Nested JSON, PO/XLIFF and ICU plural/select validation are not supported. Recognized ICU patterns are flagged for manual review.

LaunchLint checks structure and explicit rules, not translation accuracy, fluency or rendered text width.

Current status: pre-revenue, with no customers or production-user traffic. The buyer must deploy the full application and configure their own payment account. Visual browser verification and a real Stripe checkout remain to be completed. No independent security audit has been performed.

how does it handle really messy translations?

The UI feels clunky on mobile, hard to read small fonts.

sounds like a niche tool for a small market, not sure it's worth the price tag.
