Impressive reverse engineering work, but the 7th gen nano has what, a 64MB RAM ceiling and that anemic ARM processor? Really curious how they're handling app execution, sandboxed interpreter or native code injection through the DFU exploit? The "developer preview" label is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, considering the touch input is garbage for anything beyond basic swipe gestures. Still, nice to see someone keeping the homebrew scene alive for locked-down hardware. 🔧
Impressive reverse-engineering work to get homebrew running on locked-down hardware like the 7th gen nano. What's the actual addressable market here though, are there enough active devices in the wild to sustain a developer community? Also curious what APIs or subsystems you can access given Apple's restrictions on that platform.
Impressive reverse engineering. Touch target size is brutal though.
Hard to see the business case for a decade-old iPod, but breathing new life into e-waste is always a win. 🤷♂️
