About

YuzuLingo is a browser extension for people learning a language from real video. A lot of shows and clips burn the subtitles into the picture. You cannot select that text, you cannot turn it off, and dictionary tools that need a subtitle file have nothing to read. You draw a zone over the subtitle band. It stays locked to the player on YouTube, Bilibili, and other web video.Cover hides the line with a blur or a solid block, so you can listen first and reveal the words when you want them.Interact reads the burned-in text with on-device OCR in English, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, or Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). The line becomes selectable text on the video, with furigana or pinyin where the language uses readings. A session transcript lists what you saw and seeks the video when you click a line. Recognition runs in the browser. The video is not uploaded. It installs on Chrome, Edge, other Chromium browsers, and Firefox.
