About

DeskSprite is a desktop pet: a small animated character that livesdirectly on your screen, in a transparent always-on-top layer. Itanswers when you click it, looks up when your cursor comes close, andstays quiet while you work. It runs on Windows 10/11 and macOS 12+.What makes DeskSprite different is the AI pet maker. Upload 1-3photos of your own cat, dog — or any character you like — and the AIgenerates a full set of action clips: idle, playful, cursor-reactive,walking. Your pet's real face, fur color and markings are keptintact. Every clip is automatically matted and packaged, then droppedinto the app under My Pets. One click and your pet moves onto yourdesktop.Beyond the maker, DeskSprite is a full desktop pet app: a pet shopwith more companions to adopt, interactions you can configure, and abuilt-in Pomodoro focus timer your pet respects — it naps until thebell rings. Why we built it: custom desktop pets used to be a commission — $60-90and weeks of waiting — or a weekend learning sprite tools. We thoughtthe pet already sitting in your camera roll deserves the spot instead.Pricing: the app, the built-in pet and the free shop pets costnothing, no account needed. Your first sign-up includes 1 freeAI-custom pet credit. Membership ($19.99/year or $39.99 one-timelifetime) unlocks premium shop pets and more AI-custom pets.

desktop pets? sounds cute, but how often do they actually interact without being annoying?

cute idea, but the animations are kinda janky and it’s hard to find the settings.

the concept is cute, but the execution feels a bit off with the animations and overall polish.
