About
Headroom is a tool that normalizes the loudness of audio files, allowing DJs to maintain a consistent sound level throughout their sets. It also analyzes and sorts playlists by key and BPM, making it easier for DJs to create seamless transitions between tracks. The web-based application is accessible via a simple online interface.

Loudness normalization is one of those things you don't realize you need until you're frantically riding the gain knob mid-transition. Nice to see it bundled with key and BPM analysis rather than having to run tracks through separate tools. Curious whether the normalization handles tracks with wide dynamic range the same way it deals with already-compressed club tracks, since that's usually where these tools either impress or fall flat. The sorting feature is a practical addition, though most DJ software already handles key and BPM natively. The real value seems to be doing prep work outside of Serato or Rekordbox, which could be handy for people who don't want their libraries locked into one ecosystem.
Nothing like accidentally doubling your volume mid-transition because one track was mastered in 2004 and the other in 2024. Does this process tracks offline or on the fly? Also curious how the key detection compares to Mixed In Key, that's been the go-to for ages.
